Designed to scan the integrity of 100V line sound distribution systems eg: emergency paging and fire evacuation installations. The microprocessor controlled circuit continuously monitors loudspeaker lines for normal, open or short circuit condition. LEDs indicate line condition accordingly for each of the 5 speaker zones (expandable to 10 zones with A 2068 module). Internal audible alarm buzzer with cancel button is fitted. With any fault condition, a switched output is provided (via the inbuilt D25 connector) for remote monitoring purposes. This is a switched to ground signal. Two separate outputs are supplied for each zone. One for an open circuit fault and one for a short circuit fault condition.The system can be configured to operate with multiple amplifiers.
Wiring requirements: This unit is developed for “loop in loop out” serial wiring to loudspeakers with a 100kž terminating resistor at the end of the line. Star wiring or tee offs are prohibited.
Loudspeakers each require a series connected 22µf bipolar capacitor for correct operation. Suitable speaker units include Redback models C 2101, C 2112, C 2127 and
C 2148C. To alleviate false alarms a 10 second delay of fault condition register is provided.
